My Resume

After three years of gathering and exploring different project management approaches, my new challenge is to integrate an experienced professional team in order to learn from seniors and apply clean, approved processes.

My key values that I bring to a company:

STRUCTURE
It’s important to give frames, define taxonomy and clear sequences to ensure performance.
TRANSPARENCY
From end to end, transparency helps to ensure everybody’s understanding and enables to share the same DNA.
RIGOR
It’s simple : what you had started you need to complete and when you can do it today, don’t wait for tomorrow.
COMMUNICATION
The key of a clean processes and a nice result of a project is good communication skills. Without them, the client asks a car, the account manager tells to produce a boat, the project manager plans a bicycle and the developer delivers a book about ducks.

Professionnal Experience

2017-now
Web & Digital Project Manager

Elca Informatique SA

2015-2017
Digital Project Manager and Customer Care coord.

Virtua SA

Sprint planning and leading of big complex features and corrective issues for the E-Commerce, the Club and the Customer Service on the same CRM. The specific business needs and rules of each “client-department” were very interesting to identify and specify!

[230-250 man/days per year]

Different development projects around the custom CRM with mobile applications, interactions trough API’s, ERP import/exports, responsive interfaces and a lot more!

[30-140 man/days]

Obviously I aso did new projects. From front-end and responsive changes on existing websites to full relaunch of websites and additionnal functionalities, I planned and coordinated creative and technical work. Sometimes, I also invested some time to create Wireframes and Zonings myself.

After months of process modelling we began to work in the new department we created. Specifying, organizing and reporting for about 30 clients on totally different technologies like Drupal, Typo3, Zend, Joomla, Magnolia, WordPress and others, where really formative. This experience learned me a lot about escalation, prioritization, knowledge management and especially quality!

[180-200 man/days per year]

2013-2015
Project Manager and integrator/developer

Gasser Media SA

From data analysis to dynamic publishings. I was in charge of digital projects linked to an in-house solution which had a simple process : input heterogenous datas from multiple sources into a blackbox from where you can, in one clic, generate a shop, a catalogue, visiting cards, ipad applications and a lot more.

I analysed datas from several companies in order to organise them into taxonomies and integrated all this stuff in a DAM (Digital Asset Management) solution. This was a really interesting job because you learn a lot about structure and have to find a solution which fits the need of multiple departments of your customer.
I planned, coordinated and tested multiple CMS websites. This experience was interesting because I had to play multiple roles at the same time: Account manager, Project Manager, Developper, Invoicing tasks and maybe other ones.

2013-2016
Freelance consulting and project management

Michael-Erne.ch

This is my passion. After defining a clear pragmatic strategy with my client, we need to execute the plan. To do this, there are various options and one of them is that I take the lead on the projecs from end to end with my partners.
The aim of this activity is to define what the client really needs what he really wants and what are the impacts/risks of the plans. As the digital forest is really oversized it’s not easy for somebody who’s an expert in his domain to define what is possible to do with all this digital stuff. My job is to show them a map of the forest and help them to find a way. The right and pragmatic way.
In most cases I would prefer to let my professional partners, which are specialized in the technologies I’m looking for, to realise the developpement. But in some cases, I’ll be able to do it myself or maybe a part of it. All depends on the scope of the project.

Studies

2013-2015
Master of Science in Business Administration, major in Management of Information Systems

HES-SO, Lausanne

During these two years we explored different project management approaches like Agile, Waterfall and other hybrid approaches. In addition Business Intelligence (BI) and courses about the new technologies gave us a good visibility on the present market and the future innovations.
In a master course, one of the main objectives is to take a step back to go on a strategic level. That means that financial steering thanks to BI, e-business models and business analysis represent a high added value to the todays market. I also had the opportunity to write an article about Agile Retrospectives and what they can be from use for an actual leader-coach.

For my master thesis, I chosed a topic which interested myself for a long time and mixed it up with agile developpment. In that case it was my objective to see what kind of model can be hidden behind :

  • the work environment
  • the type of management
  • The performance and innovation of developping teams

Want to know more about it? It would be a pleasure to talk about it with you.

2010-2013
Bachelor of Science in Media Engineering, major in IT Management

HEIG-VD, Yverdon

I learned all what an engineer needs to know about development, database modelling and other technological approaches. In addition to the traditionnal development knowledge, we know also what is behind social media, SEO, statistics, Math, physics and other scientific topics.
The communication part is a major point in the media engineering profile. It’s important to know how to communicate and with whom. For instance, we need to be able to translate the business needs into technical tasks and also be able to make these technical tasks and issues clear to the business.
Obviously if we know how to communicate with people and have the knowledge of the operational tasks we need to know how to coordinate it. That means project management, business process management, IT governance, Agile developpment methodologies and a lot more.

2005-2010
CFC, Technical Maturity and Military service

CPLN, Neuchâtel

I started my studies in an full-time school apprenticeship as a Mediamaticien. This profession was initially created by Swisscom and the aim of it is to serve SMB’s with a mixed profile between adevelopper, a graphic designer and a sales.
After my CFC I started a technical maturity, which enabled me to enter an engineering high-school.

Like all male Swiss citizens, I was summoned to integrate the Swiss armed forces. There, I had the opportunity to explore another type of plannification : linked to the military communication technologies. So, finaly, not so far from my domain.
